Oh ok, I understand, basically you have a chat script that is not yet integrated with XOOPS, and you want to link it to XOOPS, and use it with XOOPs? It matters what Chat script you using, does it have MySQL, etc. etc. what chat are you using? I have a Cat on my site, that uses globals and integrated with my XOOPS site...

Can't help with your specific query but you'll find a lot of usefull info on how a module should be formed at the xoopswiki - I'm working through it myself, trying to build my first XOOPS module.

The chat i am going to use is called Palacechat. Its a chat that runs off of your sevrer and has a java webchat to go with it. There is no register for users or anything, its just type in a nickname adn you are in. I am wanting to make it so when a user logs into my XOOPS site and they click chat it logs them into the chat with there nickname they use for xoops.
