If you are using Mozilla or Firefox then make sure you try the BBCode extension:

It would be quite easy to write one specific to Xoops.

Thats a pretty nifty [size=xx-small]little[/size] e x t e n t i o n, thanks for the link.

No need to make one for xoops, it works out of the box

It is very close to what we need, but not complete. It does not have the font and the linethrough options. Also it would be nice if it had drop downs with values for colors and sizes. There could be other small problems as well.
