Hi there,

I have got a lot of problems with the News Module.

Everything is shown correct, but I can't edit or post any news since I've installed the new news-module.

I know, this isn't much information, but maybe you could gve me a hint.

I upgraded to 2.07 yesterday and after that I updated the news module. I didn't check it yesterday and when I wanted to update one news, I got this problem. I tried every of the other problem solutions I found about the 1.2 new smodule in this forum.

A shot in the blue sky. Did you set the permissions in the news module? This module has improved permission settings. Maybe this isn't set by default when you upgrade?

Hi there,

the Permissions are all set.

I just noticed that after I press Submit I get a blank form. I don't get taken back to the newsadminmodule, I keep on the normal themeset.

I am really trying everything

(deleted all cached files)
(deleted the template_c directory)
(checked the permissions)

Just found out something new:

If I take the news id and put it into the box and say 'edit' it jumps to the

/modules/news/admin/index.php

Page.

Maybe this helps a little

Are you editing through the admin panel or through viewing the article and clicking the "Edit" link?

I already tried both ways. I can't submit a new article although.

What does php Debug tell you when you turn it on and try to edit an article?

The last line is repeated very often

I had that last line repeating again and again once because I had in some way removed the smiley icons from the uploads folder - so there was a reference in the database to a smiley icon file, which was no longer there. After reuploading the smilXXX.gif files from the XOOPS package's uploads folder, that went away.

What version of XOOPS are you running? Those three first undefined property errors seem to suggest that something has gone wrong and a couple of your core files have been corrupted in some way.

Edit: You say 2.0.7... hmmm - try reuploading class/xoopsform/xoopsformelement.php and class/xoopstopic.php from the 2.0.7 full package

I did a little bit of work now:

Just uploaded the complete 2.07 files and upgraded again. After that I instzalled the news 1.2 again but:

The preoblem is the same...

Notice [PHP]: Undefined property: type in file class/xoopsstory.php line 403
Notice [PHP]: Undefined property: _extra in file class/xoopsform/formelement.php line 265
Notice [PHP]: Undefined property: _extra in file class/xoopsform/formelement.php line 265
Warning [PHP]: First argument to array_push() needs to be an array in file class/module.textsanitizer.php line 113

EDIT:
I got it back running with the 1.1 News module. But these two lines although appear here:
Notice [PHP]: Undefined property: type in file class/xoopsstory.php line 403
Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: expired in file modules/news/admin/storyform.inc.php line 229

Just wanted to inform you!
