Hi,

I've got some article attachments, but when I click to download them. I just see the source on the browser. It looks like a mime type thing.

Tried .doc and .txt

Any clues ?

Ian

If you access the file directly via it's URL instead of going through Xoops, does it still do the same thing?

Direct appears to work

http://www.go-share.com/modules/wfsection/cache/uploaded/721214.doc

attached here doesn't

http://www.go-share.com/modules/wfsection/article.php?articleid=18

I think its the mime types causing a problem

Yep, you be correct with your assumption there datamile. However, this is not any problem with XOOPS or WF-Section. Mime types are set on the web server (IIS, Apache, etc...) so you'll need to alter/add the relevant mime types there. Internet Explorer is no the best browser to test this in as it makes certain "assumptions" when there is not mime type set on the server. If you try your direct download link with Mozilla or Firebird, you get a message saying that the browser doesn't know how to handle the file. Meaning the mime type for that extension is not set.

Can they be turned off so that the user is offered a straight download ?

Guess I will have to look at the code.

In your case it is more likely that they aren't configured at all, rather than misconfigured. Do you know what type of webserver you use?

Curl run on the server with headers on gives
