I'm not sure if the module will work or is designed for XOOPS, I've never used it.

Also, e-xoops is no more. It is now called RunCMS and has moved to www.runcms.org

A thorough search here on the forums might give you some answers, but you may also have to check the RunCMS site to find out for sure if the module is available. If it is a RunCMS module, then it will not work with XOOPS.

The former e-xoops now known as RunCMS, is separate from XOOPS and we won't be able to offer any support for that system.

There are/were two weather modules for Xoops. One was XP-Weather and the other was MS-Weather.

Do a search for each of them and you should find some links and/or other information about them.

I tried a couple of weather modules and settled on vl-weather.

I know it works with 2.0.6

I am using MS-Weather 1.4 with XOOPS 2.0.6 -- works like a charm.

In one of my development sites, I had put up XP-Weather and liked it a lot because you, as admin, could put up a default location for the weather and then the registered users could go in and change it to whichever location they wanted.

ditto on MS- weather -- you pick the default and the user can change it from a pull down menu......

Is the user's selection retained so that the next time they visit the site, their selection of weather is already shown?

Nope -- just checked that.... I hadn't even considered that - it isn't really important for my users. We will mostly (99%) be in the same BUILDING, so that isn't really an issue for us.....
Does the other weather module keep this preference???

Yes, XP does. For my website, it'd be a good thing because it's family-oriented and my family's extended family and friends are flung out across the nation; though mostly on the east coast.
