Hi all,

Well im a total non-techie and have started developing a portal site using Xoops, so expect to see alot more of me posting here :) Thank you all for your help in advance, I hope I dont become too much of a pain.

Onto my first "Wall".

1, is it possible to have multiple seperate forums? ie, I would like to have a seperate forum for each game our site supports and one for the general site with a link to each forum at the "Forums main page" so to speak. People shouldnt have to view a massively long forum list in order to get to where they want. In future id also like to be able to set permissions to view only certain forums according to the user gourp they are in.

2, I can restrict access to categorys within the standard forum but id like it so that only certain groups can even see a forum exists. ie, only admins can see the admin forum, to all other groups it doesnt even show on their page.

Apologies for what are probably the simplest of issues but I will get up to speed on all this :).... just hope its not too painful for all concerned :)

what you describe will be in the next newBB, so it is under development.

Until then, you can perhaps start with the standard newbb and get the inconveniences (private forums not hidden etc.) filtered out with the new version

newBB is the name of the standard XOOPS forum module, which is included in the XOOPS package in version 1.0

Version 2.0 is under development and will contain the elements, you requested.
