Random image in 'NEWS' posting?

Is it possible to place PHP code/script into a NEWS module posting that would display a random image from a pre-defined location?

Something similar to the agenda-x random image script for wjue's calendar program.

I have a random image cgi/pl script that I use for a block, it works in news too. The script is placed in your cgi-bin folder, within the script you define the names of the selection of images, and the path to the images folder.

In a news post you just define the path to the script i.e.

<P><IMG src="http://yoursite.com/cgi-bin/rand_image.pl" border=0></P>

I have one running at my test site, if it is of any use to you let me know and I will make it available, and write some instructions.

Interesting. Yes please, we would like the code. Note to users, this requires CGI capabilities and Perl.

I had cloned the xoopsgallery random image block for a different usage (to replace the agendax random image) but this is nice for getting an image without using a block...

I downloaded this script form matt's scripts ages ago and adapted it for my needs (I think)
