Hi,

I'm curious about the three levels of username strictness. I understand that "strick" is alpha-numeric only, but what additional characters are allowed with "medium" and "light"?

I'm finding that many new users seem to want to include spaces in their usernames and I'm wondering if there is any down side to allowing special characters.

TIA

strict: a-z, A-Z, 0-9 only

medium: strict plus <>,.$%#@!'"

loose: medium plus ?{}[]()^&*`~;:\+=

Currently, no spaces are allowed in a user name

did you see how I added that space in there?

if all I wrote was just "ALLOWIT" it... would... oh it actually looks pretty cool that's not bad. But for godsake what if I wanted something like juicy fruit, if I put those two words together it just seems homosexual, which may or may not be my intent. Spaces are a good idea. excuse me while I look at you people who built this huge piece of software, with shame because of this one little thing. :o

Because it's bugging me quite a lot and I don't seem able to fix it. :( Don't get me wrong I love Xoops, and I haven't loved anything sinse toast.
