two possibilities I can quickly think of:
- browser cache? -clear your browsers cache and reload the edited newsitem,
- corrupt tables -check the database integrity (using phpMyAdmin or a similar database management tool) for corrupt tables.
And an unlikely third one, but thrown in for good measure:
- firewall software -blocking http headers or something. This seems like a far fetched one tho, as you're not actively blocked from doing those actions.
