Help, i try to install or update a module and i get the following notice

"unable to write to main menu"
eg:
failed open fileModule data updated.

Unable to write to main menu.

Rebuilding blocks...
Block Galeria updated. Block ID: 77

Module Galeria updated successfully.

Back to Module Administration page

Is this a corruption of the sql maybe? or something else someone has encountered, any help appreciated

Make sure your cache/ folder is writable by the system. That's where the menu file is located, and where it needs to be written.
