Hi All ... I registered a year ago but soon after my website "idea" went the way of the DooDoo. Now I am back ... sort of Now a forewarning ... I am just learning PHP, MySQL and about XOOPS .. so I ask for your patience And also ... I never learned to be concise

A couple days ago I downloaded a new copy of Xoops. The main page here suggests to download XOOPS 2.0.5.2 (stable, recommended) ... but when I clicked on it the highlighted download was 2.0.6RC. I could not see a download for 2.0.5.2 ... just a bunch of upgrade patches to bring 2.0 up to the 2.0.5.2 version.

I downloaded the 2.0.6RC version ... installed it ... and it seems to be working okay so far. But I am concerned that with my lack of knowledge that I may be taking on more than I can handle by using an RC version.

So ... my question ... finally. Should I just stop worrying and continue to use the 2.0.6RC version? or is there someplace I can still download the 2.0.5.2 version?

It is indeed strange to see that the recommended 2.0.5.2 XOOPS version isn't donwloadable as a full complete version. It seems you can only get this version by patching your way around.
Perhaps one of the devs can upload this latest recommended full XOOPS version?

The 2.0.6 is at the moment in beta and within its testfase. Because there are still some bugs within this version, I'd suggest you start with the recommended 2.0.5.2

Thanks everyone for your input ... and thanks "tl" for the link to the SourceForge download page. I should have thought of checking SourceForge before I posted. Guess the brain is not firing on all cylinders these days

I am still just checking out the program and the modules I think I will be interested in and then I will delete the installation from the temporary space I have it set up on ... and will use the 2.0.5.2 version for the "real" site.
