I can not seem to get the HEADLINES module to work. I have 2.0.5.1 installed and working fine. The XOOPS Official Site entry dosen't even show on the page. When I enter other feeds, the titles show, but no news. I know the urls are valid, because if I put them in the address bar they show the XML files.

Please help

Jason

It works for me and I use 2.0.5.1. Look at the TV News menu towards the middle of the left column of my site and you'll see headlines for two different feeds I entered in my headlines module.

Hello CBlue.

Really headline module don't work in many(90%..?) RSS and RDF sources.

Your headlines is from MyRSS webservice.

Please look this post:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=13971&forum=4

many RSS true valid (test in a RSS validator) dont work in xoops.

Test in your website this valid RSS:
http://www.interney.net/rss.php

Test your site and other sites in this validator:
http://feedvalidator.org/
http://aggregator.userland.com/validator

Re: Headlines not working :-(

It doesn't work because it's a php file not an rss file. You need an rss url for your feed in order for it to work in headlines. For example:http://myrss.com/f/t/v/tvguideF02wrd1.rss

In many cases of the headlines not working has nothing to do with the module itself, but the hosting provider you are with. Many hosting companies do not not allow site file to file linking/streaming with fopen .

If this is the case you should contact your webhosting company and ask them to enable this for you, some may not as they see it as a security issue. :-/

Hello Catzwolf..
I supose is not the problem.
How to explain the fact that the module opens rss of other sites in XOOPS and some xml, but does not open of other sites? ??
Exactly passing all for the Validator, it seems that they are all valid sources RSS.

For example: the RSS for xoops.org open correct,
Tested for valid RSS

But thishttp://www.interney.net/rss.php also a valid RSS Tested valid RSS

I put the 2 in my website(xoops 2.0.5.1) and XOOPS work, but the other no

Thanks for your help.
The headline module is simply amazing.
he is one of the more incredible modules than XOOPS has( ), but let us be sincere... it still does not function correctly. Or it has something strange in the current standard of RSS.

Please look at:

The great lykoszine: um abraço lykoszine!

It would like to more deeply know the origins of this problem with headlines of the Xoops.
When the combination of RSS was using of phpnuke always functioned correct since that he was possivel to host to serve the Fopen.
Exists a problem in headlines of the Xoops?
Thanks...
Sorry my english..

In portuguese..
