I have a slightly different request...rather than two column news layout I would like to be able to show news in the center-left column so that I can show the event calendar next to it in the center-right column.

The site I'm creating is a news/reporters club site and has both news and a lot of events/speakers.

I have trawled the forums and tried a few hacks but cannot see where to change the code for this?...any help would be appreciated.
