I'm moving my XOOPS install from one server to another. After reading several post on this forum the move went very smooth (only took like 20 minutes) except my xoopsgallery module.

When I click gallery in the menu it goes to the gallery but only 2 or 3 of the albums actually have pictures. When I look at the total number of pictures it is correct and the pictures are actually in the albums on the hard drive but they don't show up. I've checked the file permissions and all of the albums are the same whether the pictures show up or not. BTW, the random picture function will show pictures that done't show up in the galleries.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you figure this out?? I'm having the exact same problem (actually NONE of my galleries are showing photos).

Can anyone give some advice?

Never figured it out. I ended up re-uploading all of the images.

The makers of Gallery recommend upgrading to 1.4.0 before migrating, otherwise the new server won't be able to read the old album files. Only problem is.. how do you upgrade since XoopsGallery is a modded version of Gallery???

the xoopsgallery is a heavy modified version...
its not easy to update it to 1.4
but i think the important fixes can port to the xoopsgallery version

in the next days gstarrett will release a fixed version of xoopsgallery.. just wait

Yes, I'm going to be posting an updated package with all the fixed I found in these forums here + a number of others that the testers have found. there's still a list of other issues that won't be fixed in the update, but it should be a working package out of the ZIP, so to say.

I don't know if it will address the specific problem listed here. Unfortunately, the album files of Gallery are serialized objects and would be difficult to modify. That said, I can't think of why simply copying them over to the new server as an entire set wouldn't work (there is some code in there to prune invalid albums, but unless you only copied part of them then I don't think this would have affected your results).

Keep a good backup of the albums (everything from cache/albums down) and hopefully the update will help you out.
