I think this is right....
In previous versions of Xoops, in order to display banners, you "had" to have a banner image to go with it.... that didn't go too well for those who do the banner exchange thing and had a javascript, or some html supplied by the exchange.... so, in the current verison, the ability to use HTML instead of a banner is now supported..... which brings me to the answer to your original question.... instead of adding the banner, simply use the a href = "your site" w/o the target element, and you should be good to go.
DISCLAIMER: I have not had the chance to try this, so I cannot/will not guarantee it will work. It is based on what I suspect to be true.

Re: Html box in banner section?

The code worked perfect in 2.0.3 but now I have upgraded my sites to 2.0.5.1 and I cant get the banners to work the way I want.

Here is the code I used on 2.0.3

When I check the html box and place this code there it wont pull the image from the banners folder? Any help?

Did you put the <a href="http://www.thesiteyouwantthebannertobringup.com"><img src="http://www.mysite.com/images/banners/banner.gif"></a> as your complete html code? It would seem to me that you need to do that if you check off the html code box.

Re: Html box in banner section?

The banner code is correct and it does work. The problem im haveing is you cannot see the banner your working on inside of the banner admin. All it shows you is the code where the banner should be displayed when useing the html box. If you use the standerd interface the banner shows up fine in the admin section. I hope this makes sence...

Re: Html box in banner section?

Im useing some of my banners a lil different. I have my own ads on my website therefore I dont need to add the a tags to click through to another site or page. There just specials I run from time to time. So the code I posted does work on the site but doesn't display the banner like It did in the admin section of 2.0.3

Anyway Its fixed and working on the site thats the important thing...

Thank you for your post...

You were able to fix it and now your banners/ads work with the html code?

If so, congratulations! I'm happy for you!
