Hi.

Simple question. I've tried to search function, didn't come up with a proper answer.

How do I set my xoops installation so that our users will stay logged in forever until they log out ? It's quite annoying to log in every time I visit the website.

ask them to check remember me box when they are logging.

There is no such button. That's basically what I mean.
Can't find anything to configure that option either.

So ... anything else ?

in xoops 2.5.x you have remember me option.
what is your xoops version?

XT_GAME, the make up is completely changed though (but did not remove any essential code !!)

but when I select the original installation theme, there is no option either.

I can't update to 2.6.x either, because my hoster (versio.nl) does not allow it (yet) and manually updating it results in an error.

maybe you dont set a name for user cookies?
go to admin -> system -> preferences -> general setting and look for this option:
"Name for user cookies."

"If the cookie name is set, 'Remember me' will be enabled for user login. If a user has chosen 'Remember me', he will be logged in automatically. The expiration for the cookie is one year."

I think the default is xoops_user
