Integrate phpbb 3.xx with Xoops

Instead of have newbb I wonder if it's possible to integrate an already existing phpbb 3.0.X forum with about 8000 members?

In that way the members that register on my Xoops 2.5.0 can go to the integrated forum without having to register again.

Is there any way to do this?
How and where do I do that?

AFAIK there is no module that link the current version of the phpbb forum to XOOPS.
Most people try a convert of their database tables to XOOPS.
There are also scripts to import users wfrom a csv file.
(search for convert, CSV, IPB, PHPBB or SMF)
