Hi,

When I go to install xoops 2.5, I get the blank page of death when the install wizard goes to do the table creation. I am running php 5.1 and mysql 5.0.77, how do I fix this and retry the install? I get green lights on everything and when it goes to the populate tables of my database step I just get a blank page.

Thanks,
Dan

Your PHP version is insufficient.
Use XOOPS 2.4.5 instead.

Is there a way to retry the installation without deleting everything and reuploading?

If you have all the files online you can probably just delete the caches, upload the install directory, delete the database and reinstall...

But if you had problems and are unsure that they are all in place you may want to delete and reupload regardless.

It seems that the mainfile.php is not being written to even though I have it set to be writable. when it says it saved the settings to mainfile.php, I checked that file and the settings were not saved. How do I fix this?

Thanks,

In which step are you exactly?
Did you use an existing database or provided a name for a new database?
It is possible that you don't have the right to create databases.

Hi Ghia,

It gets to the step for "Table Creation" and the page just goes to a blank page. I did provide a database name and the other time, I let in create the database. I do have full rights to create databases as I have created them on this server without any problems. I have no idea what the issue is. Very strange though. I get all green check marks all the way up to the "Table Creation" step and then when I click "Next" to start the table creation, it just goes to a blank page.

Still not sure as where you are exactly.
In Configuration save 7/14 you saw 'The installer has saved the settings to mainfile.php Press next...' Then you hit next and come in the Table creation 8/14 and when you press there next, you got a white screen?
(See also the XOOPS installation manual for the steps.)
