Hello good morning. I have just moved my Xoops website to a new webhosting and I guess I did something wrong during the process.

Firstly, I have exported the Xoops database from server A to server B. Everythings seems to have the same content.

Then, I downloaded all the files/folders from server A to upload it again in the new server B.

Third, I updated the database values of mainfile.php to match them with the new values (username, password, host etc)

Finally, I gave permissions to folders : cache, templates_c and uploads.

If I try to enter my new domain I get a blue webpage with the sentence:

" This domain is under construction and will be available soon "

And the tab of the browser with Xoops symbol and "Cooming soon".

¿Whats wrong?

hi'

It seems very strange... as if you have put your Xoops files into the wrong directory / sub-directory.

Are you sure that your domain points to the directory where files are ?

Well, i uploaded the folder tree to the "public_html" folder, and in fact, It shows the xoops symbol, so I think I uploaded properly everything.

Usually, a domain bought with a webspace points to the root folder (sometimes named /www, in your case it is public_html). If you don't have modify any parameters about your domain, you should have this kind of tree folder :

- public_html/
- public_html/mainfile.php
- public_html/uploads/
- ...

So it's ok. Now you have to verify on wich folder points your domain or if it is well activated.

Another idea : rename index.html file into public_html/. Sometimes it takes the hand, before index.php

Have you opened index.html and index.php files to see what it contain ?

Who is your hosting company ?

Sounds to me like you left the original files in the directory that were there from the initial host installation.

If the index.html page was write protected you still have the old one there and apache is likely defaulting to the old index.html file.

I always remove the original files from the web root directory and put them somewhere and load xoops into the empty directory.. Makes life less confusing...

Also make sure you have the paths correct as well in the mainfile.php file. And when done the file should be protected.
