Hi,

I installed the latest release and this is what I'm getting on the Smart FAQ:

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/myhost/public_html/Family/modules/smartfaq/admin/faq.php on line 50

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /home/myhost/public_html/Family/modules/smartfaq/admin/faq.php on line 375

I've uninstalled it and then re-installed it and I'm still getting this error. Any suggestions?

What version of MySQL, PHP and Xoops are you running?

Sounds like the version of SmartFAQ that you are running is using some depreciated functions and yelling about it.

Are you running with debug mode on?

Mamba can chime in I am sure but I do believe they are using SmartFAQ on here and it is running 2.4.5 of XOOPS.

If you are running 2.5 Xoops you are running alpha software and things will break..

These 'deprecated' messages are from the newer versions of PHP (probably 5.3 or +) and may be ignored. If you switch off PHP debug in the preferences, they will no longer be displayed.
