hi' Erol,
I don't know if Morphogenesis is a framework ? a theme ? other... all I know, it is a great tool to learn html and css
Let me detail my own experience about morphogenesis, the only theme is use ... since two or three years now.
When I begin a new theme - it is what I'm doing right know
- it is always with morphogenesis. When I finish a theme, it does not look like a morphogenesis theme. A final version of a morphogenesis theme looks like that :
Main file- theme.html
Styles-- /css/style.css
-- /css/modules.css (for overrided modules templates)
-- /css/globalnav.css (sometimes kept out of styles.css)
Themes tpl-- /xotpl/blockzone.html
-- /xotpl/centerblocks.html
-- /xotpl/globalnav.html (kept out of theme.html, it is more convenient for updates)
-- /xotpl/xoscripts.html (same reason)
Images used by theme-- /img/ ... all images
-- /icons/ ... all icons
Language-- /language/french/main.php
-- /language/english/main.php
Ajax-- /js/jquery-plugins.js...
Modules tpl overrided-- modules/system
-- modules/...
In my opinion, it is well ordered and there are no so many calls to templates. But I may be wrong
I believe Kris (and before, Snow77 and Skalpa) has developed such theme / framework to make customizations
• more easy (difficult to believe, but once you understand the operation, really)
• you can make a new theme more quickly (very interesting for professionals)
• anyone who wants to learn css with a little patience sould take a look to morphogenesis
... I'm not enough skilled to talk about design or creativity
You may be right, but... with some claim, I would say that very few templates (wordpress, joomla, drupal... sorry not a good example
) can not be transposed to XOOPS thanks to morphogenesis.
... so, I still believe it is not a good idea to make morphogenesis the default theme because of his complexity. Something lighter would be better
