Hello,
I am trying to install a XOOPS site to my domain.

I have uploaded the htdocs files to the server (linux). My webhost meets the requirements on the backend.

When I try to get the installwizard up i get this message:

You have choosed to open; application/x-httpd-php

I have my root like this: http://www.mysite.com/01_xoops

Anyone have ideas on this issue I will be mutch gratefull! :)

The message you are getting suggests that your server isn't parsing php...

See this for possible solutions (found in a google search for "application/x-httpd-php")

Also, have you been able to run the checksum script?

Create a file info.php in your site with following code:
Quote:
If this gives the same error, contact your hoster. You are sure to have PHP and MySQL on your site?

Well that changed something :)

When i but the info.php in the root i now get a 403 forbidden mess.

"You dont have permission to access / on this server"
Apache/2.2.9 (Ubuntu) mod_fastcgi/2.4.6 Server at http://www.nordicserver.se Port 80

I have contacted the host and yes its a apache server and php5 parshing, we have databases and all is cool except the server doesnt seem to parshe the XOOPS engine.

There was a php nuke install before that worked.

I made the host make a cleanout of the server and MySql db before I uploaded the XOOPS files.

Latest try is that firefox loads the site blank.

http://www.mysite.com is blank but it loads and i have the XOOPS icon in the flag ?

Latest edit; I have another XOOPS site that work properly and I have compared the filestructure and its the same on both hosts.

Would it help if I made a new map i.e XOOPS and redirect from the mainsite with a index.html?

I have no clue about this weird behaviour on your site. Most installations of XOOPS run flawless.
(Most problems arise when session support is not on on some hosters or with wrong database credentials, or no rights to create them automatic in step 4 or 5.)

The info.php file should run, without any problems. If it does not, there is a problem that the hoster should correct.
Maybe there is some .htaccess file, that restricts access or rewrite URL's.

It could, it takes only a little time to try it. (Start the install with http://www.mydomain.com/xoops/)

Thanks for the help ghia! :)

Problem solved.

It was a server backend problem with the parsing.
The site is up with no problems now :)
