My question is about the XOOPS Uploader Security Patch. The answers in the comments have confused me a little. Is the patch necessary for a 2.2.4 site?

I hope someone can help?

Yes!
Maybe it is better to simply replace the file with the one from XOOPS 2.3.3.

There was also a patch for forms in 2.2.5

Thank you for your reply!

I downloaded 2.3.1 a while back. Is it OK to use 2.3.1 files to replace /class/uploader.php and /class/mimetypes.inc.php on my 2.2.4 site? The version difference between 2.2.4 and 2.3.1 won't cause a problem?

I believe both will replace without problems, but recommend the ones from 2.3.3 for having the latest ones.
(As always when patching and upgrading, make full backups!)
