Hi,
I’ve got a module CATADS (ad postings) installed on my XOOPS site. And I want users to be automatically subscribed to its notifications after registering. Like they won’t need to login first, go to module and tick the Global Notifications box, it all is supposed to be done already. Is it possible on Xoops?

Does anyone know the answer for this now? I'm really interested in doing this for a site I'm planning.

You must hack register.php for that. In the newuser processing, you must instantiate a notification handler and add the notifications for the required module, category and items. These vary with the module and its functions.

And I assume there's really no way to do this through a manual process either, i.e. register the user centrally and add the notification to the user, without actually logging in as the user in question?

I don't think admin can manage the notifications in user/module details.
So, there is nothing than custom PHP code or SQL commands with phpMyAdmin.
