permission error in News

I set up two categories in the news module which is my startmodule:

News: viewable by webmasters and registered users
Public: only viewable by anonymous users

Now when i open my website not being logged in i see all newsitems from both categories while i only should see newsitems from public categorie...

I'm using XOOPS 2.3.3 and News 1.63

Anyone knows what's wrong?

The newsitems, that you see on the frontpage, is this because you appointed the news module as default front page module or do they appear in a block?
Check your module preferences, because some allow to see the scoop (the first part of the article as teasers) of the articles not available to some groups.
When clicking on the link to view the full article, a message for having to login is displayed and the full article is not shown. Is this also the case?

It's on the mainpage. And all articles are fully readable not only the scoop.

News is the main startmodule in my site....

Are you sure that in admin - modules - news - permissions with the dropdown on 'View Permissions' the checkbox on the category for anonymous users is unchecked?
Because, here it simply works!
What is your PHP version?

Yes, anonymous users only have viewing permissions for category public...

php version = 5.2.0-8
