Most developers add a link to their module prefs in the module admin 'home' screen, but some older modules only include a link to prefs in the mouse-over menu.

I agree that it is a bit clunky to use (I often wind up scrolling up or down and then losing the menu completely), but you had better double-check user access to prefs before disabling it.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

same here. i am installing the site for a friend. and they're complaining about this.
also i disable some menu for them like "preference or other core settings". but on the mouse over menu, it showed up where by it shouldn't show up like how when the module icon is clicked.

so come back to the question, how do i disable the mouse over on the module icon? anyone knows? I would prefer the user clicking on the module icon and show whats on the module on a page.
