i have installed the XOOPS code with success.... but when i go to my admin.php it says
"you don't have the right to access this area"

and it takes me back to the main page.

i've looked up the problem a million times in the forums here.. but there is no CLEAR answer... :(

Since:

Be sure there are www in XOOPS_URL in mainfile.php and try to empty ( not delete ) xoops_session table by phpmyadmin.

thank you for your help mowaffak.. but i still have the same problem after changing the www and emptying the xoops_session..

Ok, please forgive me is this answer sounds to obvious, but did you login before trying to access admin.php?

i thought i was supposed to login ON the admin.php page?

because when i go there.. it give me the 'you have no right to access this page' message. and takes me back to the homepage.

Nope.

Login as normal and, if you have admin rights you will see a link to "Administration Menu" in your User Menu.

SIGN IN ON FRONT PAGE! EVEN AS ADMIN!
