I spent ages last night installing, uploaded and playing with modules... I come to log in this morning (using my admin login) and it keeps just taking me in a big loop. I type my log in details, it says "thanks for logging in, admin" then takes me back to the homepage, unlogged in! I can't get to the admin area any more to carry on building my website. I thought it may have been a module I uploaded (as this happened yesterday too), so I deleted XOOPS and started again... same thing happened today and I can't do anything with my site apart from delete it and install a different CMS as I can't not have it working... Any tips???

Thanks!!!

Hi, what is the version of XOOPS you installed?

2.0.18.1

It came as part of a cPanel hosting package; I've been using phpWCMS to build basic websites, but now I need something a lot more complex, but not over the top like Joomla. Xoops, so far, seemed perfect. Easy to use, easy to install and configure modules; too good to be true!

Sounds like some sort of an installation glitch.

Rather than use the CPanel installation, are you able to upload a "vanilla" install of 2.0.18.1 downloaded from this site to a newly created database?

Getting there though; will report back in a bit

Okay....

Just a thought:
Log out of here whilst you're installing and trying to login to your site.

so far, so good..... i have notice that the non-cPanel installation has a lot more files in the root folder... this could explain a few things!!!
