Hi!

I have made a webserver with one of my computers here at home with lampp (xampp) I use linux. The server works fine.

Instead of using my ip-address to connect to my site I have get a dns-address.

I can se the site if i write the full path:
http://[my-site].no-ip.org/www/boinc/

Is there somehow any change to edit in any file so I will see the site if I only write:
http://[my-site].no-ip.org/

I have tried to edit the mainfile.php but dosen't work for me. lampp (xampp) have files in the root and if I only write:
http://[my-site].no-ip.org/

The lampp (xampp) page will show up.

I have got the dns-address from http://www.no-ip.com
Do I have to do something on there site to point the address to a more exact point then only use my ip-address?

Do I have to use someother software to fix this?

I have no more ideas. :S

In the mainfile.php I chaged this:
virtual path
from
http://[my-site].no-ip.org/www/boinc/
to
http://[my-site].no-ip.org/

Please help me. :)

Hi AHLIS,

You have to change your apache web server configuration in the httpd.conf file. In this case you must change the document root, as you don't wanna have any path. It is no great deal.
Bad news is, you will not have access to the xampp admin site + phpmyadmin site any longer, so you have to change their configs too.

So you better have a look in the apache (xampp) doks how to do it!
