yes and no.
Version 2.0.16 is the latest stable release. version 2.2.x suffers from several behavioral changes that give it a limited compatibility with the current third-party modules base, although this is being corrected. I know the core developers are working on 2.0.17 and 2.2.5 releases. I suggest you read
