I need help in getting a smartsection module cloned. I followed the steps but it produced error.

Anyone successfully clone the module?
I had the clone.php on the root of the XOOPS site.
I had a smartsection module in the module folder of the site.
I run the file
http://www.mysite.com/clone.php and it produced an error.
I get no support from smartfactory website.
there are clones available to download from their site but its the old version 2.12.
Any help here would be very much appreciated. thank you
