I have a problem with xoops, when I login as administrator, and trying to acces Administration Menu, it show to me this :
You don't have the right to access this area
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here


Can someone help me :(

Can't login as admin? Try this FAQ for starters.

There are more on this topic depending on the specific circumstances in FAQ's and in forums. Please use search.

In the future can you please ask a specific question in your subject line rather than say 'help me please? ' You will be more likely to get a specific and fast response.

If you set up your site with a www., make sure you are going to www.yoursite.com/admin.php.

jensclas sorry for the title I edited it.
I dont have problems with login, I have problems with admin.php, when I signhttp://localhost/htdocs/admin.php
it shows to me this :
You don't have the right to access this area
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

why it happens

have you just started this site? if I say to you run a check and repair on your database would you understand what that meant? If not follow these steps:

To try a simple repair on your sessions table do this:
-just go into phpmyadmin

-scroll down the list of tables in the db, tick the box next to the xoops_session table (your tables may have a different prefix than xoops_ tho)

-then scroll to the bottom, in the selection box at bottom under the tables, select repair.

or you can goto the query window in phpmyadmin and type ' REPAIR TABLE xoops_session '

Please see if this helps.

I repaired, but still is the same problem

Let's get some basics out of the way -

Have you ever been able to get to the admin area?
Are you logging in with the administrator user you set up during the install?
Which user(s) are members of the Webmasters group?

Answer: Never

Question:

Answer: Yes I can login with the administrator user, but when I click : Administration Menu it show to me:
You dont have the right to access this area ?

Question:
Which user(s) are members of the Webmasters group?
Answer: Just me

Dear ILyrium, since it is a local installation, why don't you delete everything (database & xoops) and start over?
I am sure that there is a mistake during installation. It happened to me also once (I do not remember the cause) but following the instruction -word be word- you will not have problem.

I reinstalled XOOPS many times (also I deleted database of xoops), but still is the same problem. During Installation I didnt have any problem.
