Im usally more careful but i guess i was half asleep when i made this mistake. I was deleting folders I didnt need in the main directory thinking I was doing no harm. However when I returned to my site this error appears: Smarty error: the $compile_dir '/templates_c' does not exist, or is not a directory. Anybody have a fix?

Recreate the directory in the root (where XOOPS is installed) and give it write access (CHMOD 0777) and all should be well again.

Just recreate the /templates_c directory --- give it the 777 permissions.

I have deleted all of the files from that directory on a regular basis. Just leaving the index.html file intack.

<script>history.go(-1);script>

code above for the index.html file.

Good luck

No need to reply. Cleaned up my own mistake by re-uploading templates_c to main directory.
