Hello, I am trying to find a forum module. Perfably phpBB, is there one in existance? I am running XOOPS 2.0.16

Is there a newer version of XOOPS then this?

Anyway I really need a forum module. Does anyone know a great one like phpBB(or phpbb itself if it exists for XOOPS 2.0.26) that I can download?

No - phpbb is not a native XOOPS module. There is/was a hack available from http://www.bbpixel.com - but it requires hacks to the XOOPS core to work, and therefore isn't really recommended for all users.

There is a XOOPS bridge for SMF... but it takes over the user management and login...to a degree, the tail wags the dog here...

...but it does work.

CBB is fully integrated into your XOOPS site (once you download install it) and fully supported and regularily updated by phpppp. If you want my advice, install it and use it. It has all the features (well, all the ones I have ever needed) that phpBB has but works better with your own site.

Ok guys, thank you for the help, I am downloading it and installing it. However I have a question on the framewrok and editor. DO I need to do anything to these, or just upload them? The documentation is a bit confusing. Doesn't seem that I really need to do anything other then upload them, making a folder dor them.

Just upload them to the correct paths, the documentation explains this, they are quite large files in an XOOPS sense, therefore, occasionally ftp errors may occur from your end/connection/host server (note: may occur YMMV) and you should be good to go. It really is that simple. If there appears to be a problem upload them again, though this may be totally unecessary in your case. ;o)

Ok, I got that all working, but now I need some more help if you do not mind. I also need a blog. Is there a blog module designed for version 2.0.16 of XOOPS?

I like the forum. It is NOT phpbb, thats for sure, but it has a lot of options and fits the site flawlessly..I mean the theme and everything. It is very nice, and I would recomend it to anyone who needs a forum. It's not hard to install, though I have not got it fully "setup" in the admin area yet. I am so use to phpBB setup, but I will get it all figured out. Just wanted to say that you guys did a great job with it.

One question on it. Is there a hack I can do in order to get it to auto login the user when they log into my site?

so two questions:

1) is there a blog that is designed for XOOPS 2.0.16?

2) Is there a hack to get the person to login into the forums automaticaly when they log into the site?

Thanks again guys. Really like this software a lot. When I get some more time on my hand I want to learn how to make modules and other things to help with the community. Right now I am learning about themes, and smarty tags since I knew how to make themese until I found out that it used smarty tags. But I am not sure where to go to learn about smarty tags. Never knew about them until I started using XOOPS!
