Problem:
Clicking on "edit" or using the Edit menu from NEWS 1.44 admin module, you are unable to edit an existing news item(article). You can submit and view just fine. Deletions work just fine.
Symptoms:
Clicking on edit results in an error message which reads "Sorry but either there are no topics or you don't have the rights to post in any topic. If you ar the webmaster, go in the permissions and set the 'Submit' permissions.". The article will not open for editing, nor can it be deleted.
XOOPS / System Info:
Version 2.0.15, NEWS Module 1.44, PHP 5.xx, Apache 2.xx
under Windows Server 2003. New install as of about four months ago (I haven't had to edit an article up to now).
What I've Tried:
Setting Group permissions for the news module for Webmasters is all set to allowed. Setting News Module permissions for webmasters for "Submit", "View", and "Approve" are all set to allowed. Folder / file permissions are all set as per XOOPS Install Guide, and News Module "README" file.
Plea for Help:
I'm stumped. Has anyone run across this? Is there something I'm missing? Clearly the majority of XOOPsers use NEWS Module, or do they? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Here's my site link:
http://militechs.com - But, It won't do you much good to troubleshoot, as you won't be able to get to editing an article.
Is there a newer or CVS release of News Module? Is there something better I should be using? I don't have many articles online and would prefer to switch now if I have to, before it's too much work to deal with.
Thanks in advance fellow XOOPsers!
