I am the owner of http://www.ocaholic.ch - Swiss IT - News and sometimes the site needs extremly long to be loaded. When the generating time exceeds 60 seconds and more we nearly always get a error in Line 34.

A friend of mine told me, that this could have anything to do with the download module. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find anything helpful here in the support forum so I decided to ask you guys for help.

Does anybody know the problem?

I cannot reproduce this. Max 10 seconds per Page here.

On which pages does this happen?
Any external content displayed there?
Did you try to disable some blocks for testing in that area?
(if you can force it for testing that is)

The error is always the same:

Quote:
This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34

Unfortunately i can't force the error if otherwise I'd tell you. I just can say that before we get the error the site is going to be loaded in a very slow way.

that means your MySQL server is not responding or is refusing the connection..

if the db details in mainfile.php are correct, then it's likely your MySQL server has stopped responding or crashed.

you might be able to trace the issues through the servers error logs.. failing that contact your host and see if they can help.
