Hello.

I was testing some advanced editors for my Xoops, and I specially wanted XK_Editor, because it has tables and alignent of text easilly placed by a button.

I placed the files in the class folder, and replaced the imagemanager file as explained in its docs. I suppose I am missing something, because when I clic on the image manager button ( wich seems to be the same button as in XoopsEditor, has the same icon), it opens, I select the image, BUT IT IS NOT INSTERTED. Something fails.

I am near to give up trying to make it work. Do you have any idea of what I have done wrong?

If not, I will continue using the standard XOOPS Editor, BUT...
Do you know some way to use tables and text alignment (left, center, right) in XoopsEditor? These are the only features I need.
How to get them?

Thanks.

Jordi.

I had the same problem with inserting images with XK_Editor.
Since a couple of weeks I use tinyeditor 1.00 beta which has table features also. Tinyeditor's features can be expanded by the use of plugins.
Beside of the standard XOOPS ImageManager it can also work with iManager and iBrowser.

No, it's not the same button, koivi has it's own button that you can see below the 'normal' buttons.

I had this problem in the past too.
Had to delete all the files in template_c and delete/refresh my browser cache before I saw the koivi button.

Thank McDonnald and svaha.

McDonnald, I am just now downloading the new tinyeditor to test. Thanks.

I really liked the appereance of XK Editor, anyway. The only flaw was that problem with imagemanager.

svaha, I am a bit confused.
Why did you delete templates_c directory? Is good to do that? What are templates_c directory used for?
If I do that, will kiovi work ok?
Please explain.

By replaceing system_imagemanager.html with the new one that comes with koivi, the "old" system_imagemanager.html will remain in the cache in templates_c folder and will keep being rendered.

You should update the system module from the admin panel to regenerate the template... then the koivi's image insertion button will appear in your image manager. Deleting files in templates_c will also cause the regeneration of the template.

Yes, at certain moments it is necessary to delete all file in templates_c folder except the index.html, the templates will automatically regenerate again. As I understand it is some sort of cache system XOOPS uses to make your site render faster.

svaha,

I saw in a faq that templates_c is a cache directory, but it says it is good to clear all files except some "index files".
Must I delete all, or leave some file? What is that index file and how to recognize it?

Thanks.

Re: Don't delete index file?
There's an index.html file in the templates_c folder, that protects the folder contents from being listed in a browser, as an added security precaution. If you remove that, your folder contents is open to the world to browse through (and maybe take advantage of).

therefore don't delete index.html in templates_c, you'll recognize it because that's the file's name.

Hello

I installed again XK Editor, deleted all in templates_c directory except index.html and it now works OK !!!!!!

Thanks to you all for your help.

Now I will try to install tinyeditor 1.0 too to compare.

The only flaw is that now, in image manager, see the 3 buttons used by Xoopseditor, and below, the "insert image" button of XK editor. Is there a way to hide the 3 buttons of Xoopseditor when it's not used, and show them only if Xoopseditor is in use?

Thanks again.
If I could help you in anything, just ask.
