I recently found a bit of info on the Moodle4Xoops module in my search in hopes of adding such a teacher / student type module to my son's website. I have tried a couple other modules out there in this category but the Moodle4Xoops is the one I would prefer. With that said, In my search I found a XOOPS user who had the file Moodle4Xoops 1.4.5 version that I have now installed and have found the following listed items to be issues when installed with the site using XOOPS version 2.2.3a. My guess is because XOOPS has moved forward in its developement with upgrades, etc. but the Moodle4Xoops module has not been updated to keep up with Xoops.
Thus far I am finding:
- I continue to get the error msg "ERROR: You need to create the directory /uploads/moodledata with web server write access" when I have already done so.
- It will not retain my login from page to page as if it were a cookie issue but I've checked that and it is fine. I also have Moodle installed in a differnt directory on this site and it works fine for me.
- When I try to log back in as the admin it gives me the "Invalid login, please try again", forcing me to have a new password emailed to me. After logging back it, it yet again will not retain my log in.
- It seems that no one has permission to access the Moodle4Xoops module except for the admin but I double checked group permissions and I have it set so that every group has permission to access the module.
- The Moodle4Xoops module seems to require a completely seperate registration from the XOOPS site its self requiring two seperate registrations. It would be most helpful if the user were auto-logged in via their login to the site its self as with other modules.
- I am finding the Moodle4Xoops listed in the XOOPS > admin > preferences but not listed in XOOPS > admin > modules although I realize this is probably intended but point it out just in case it is not.
I am knowledgable in html but more a webmonkey when it comes to php and MySQL so help and advice would be great.
If there is anyone who might give me some guidence on these issues or anyone who is currently using the Moodle4Xoops module and has it working correctly; advice, suggestions, working with me or any help at all please as I would love to use this module.
Thank you for your time in this matter,
Lana
