Hi everybody,

To stimulate people to register, I want to lock down some content like wordbook or some newscategories. But since 90% of all my traffic comes from Google, I want to make sure that I can be found. So I want to close it down for non-registred users, but keep it open for spiders without them caching my content. Anyone suggestions? Thank in advance

Users:Groups in the admin area. Modify Anonymous to have access to nothing.

But how will the search engines spiders index the content?

I am not sure it would affect spiders. Some content will not show up on search engines. But I would think they could still spider portions of it. What I do myself to encourage registration is restrict access to forums, downloads, and such. It seems to work. I leave enough access to encourage folks to surf, but keep the special stuff for registered users.
