hi,am i able to change the logo and text but keep the colour bannar.

You probably can - but we need more information - what module and /or theme are you referring to in what cersion of XOOPS so people can send you in the right direction? For example...if the header you are talking about is a module title you can change this in your modules admin...but if it is a specific block then you need to change it somewhere else - and same goes for the theme...
