Hi..

im new to XOOPS and i was wondering how i could make a "frontpage".

On mye toppage ( first page for ppl that enters) i want news.
ive got the module.

Im using News

how can i make this be on the toppage for everyone? so that my news are listen fra new to oldest ( top to bottom)

Go to Preferences > General Settings. You will see:

Module for your start page. Select the News module for your start page.
[size=x-small]If God is watching us, the least we can do is be entertaining.[/size]

You have other choices, you can also use blocks to customize your page.

Every modules has blocks along with it, you can play with these setting until you understand how they work.

It is much too long to explain it, but you can check the faq, and I am sure the docs have a detailed explanation of blocks.

Both are good suggestions. I use blocks myself, and you can tell XOOPS where to put the blocks in the admin module. Another handy thing is Iframes. I have a large html site that parts of have been around since 1997. It would take forever to transfer it all over to Xoops, so I use Iframes in blocks to get things where they need to be. I use links inside the Iframe so all the html pages open in the same spot. This works very well for me.

2. The FAQ section - linked on the left - specifically the secions on gloassry, beginners first steps, modules, blocks and themes. There are links to visual tutorials here.
3. The search function on the top right.
