Everytime I try to upload a theme I get this error message

http://img478.imageshack.us/img478/246/error4vh.jpg

I downloaded the theme from the themes library and its as a .zip file. I used a program to convert the .zip to tar.gz and try to upload it. Still the same error message.

I looked in the themes directory. Decided to create folder and just upload the files in the .zip manually. But then when I got to Admin, Preferences, General Settings. The theme I uploaded isn't in the list.

Any ideas how I upload a theme then?

Thanks

7dana-xred is normal theme, you can install it by upload the folder of the theme in yoursite/themes by using any FTP software.

Some themes may contain extra gz file for make style change in templates of some modules and not in general style of xoops.

so just upolad 7dana-xred theme to themes folder via FTP software.

Thats what I did and it wasn't working. Then I've just worked out why :)

I was testing this so put it in my route directory on my host and tried the manual install. Got an error at the end. Asked for help at my hosting company. They told me I can use CPanel Fanstico to install it. So i did, but then told it to install in a directory called testing.

So i was basically put the themes in the route directory Themes, directory, instead of the testing/themes directory

:)

Oops

Thanks for the help though.

may be you put main unziped folder "xoops2-thm_7dana-Xred" , you need to upload the folder named "7dana-Xred" with the theme.html and other files inside.

Once again go to System Admin->Preferences-> General Settings, and make your new theme your default. XOOPS will recognize the theme you uploaded.
