Dear all,

I get this error message while I am trying to set up the latest XOOPS package in my server. Is it something to do with the data base configuration or something else? Canyou help me in this please, i'll be thankful. Thanks in advance.

I have re-uploaded the file mainfile.php but still I get the same error message. I am using the lastest version of XOOPS I downloaded for your website. I have phpMyAdmin 2.7.0-pl2. I don't know how to get my MySQL version.
I am still new in Php stuff, I never used it before. I wonder if I have to install something related to php, U created a simple data base for Xoops. Please tell me how to have XOOPS work properly on my server.

Best regards.

Ps: Thank you guys for this website.

Hi all,
I don't know if any one read my post or not, I am really in need of help about my problem. I am trying to install an Arabic version of XOOPS but I get errors, I mean this happens even with the other version of xoops. I get the same error message I posted above.

May be these info would help:

Xoops : xoops-2.0.13.2
phpMyAdmin 2.7.0-pl2
MySQL 4.1.18-standard

Please help me about this . I'll appreciate any help.

Same problem here. The "Failed writing constant..." messages first then the "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in... .../mainfile.php on line 32" error on the next screen when I try to install XOOPS 2.0.13.2

It's getting clear that I shouldn't use MySQL 5.x and/or PHP 5.x with XOOPS 2.0 but I'm just a geek and my Linux disto just put these two into my machine. Technically lame guys like me just can't change their MySQL or PHP version, and desperately need an XOOPS patch. If there is no a simple workaround for this problem I'll be very sad for leaving Xoops. :( :( Please help me!

I sugest that you again download the xoopsfiles from this site. Because sometimes something is going wrong during the down an upload from files. Nobody kwons why, it just happens

Then make a fresh install, be sure that you set your permissions in the right way. The install procedure will help with that.

The installer is not fully compatible with PHP 5. This post gives the fix.

Upload a new mainfile.php file before starting the install again.

This has been fixed in SVN, and will be included in the next XOOPS release.
