odd theme.html problem

This is probably a server problem but........

When I make a change in the theme folder in my server (ftp) I go back and refresh the home page and nothing happens, as a matter of fact I can remove the theme.html file all together and the page still loads?

Yet, I can change the logo.gif to any other logo I want but can't change the theme.html file

Any suggestions?

Is your administration/preferences/general settings set to "Yes" for updateing template/theme html?

When making changes always delete the contents of the /templates_c folder. The reason you are not seeing the changes take effect is that the theme is cached.

By deleting the files, you do not have set the update themes in the admin.

But it's safer to just set 'Update themes and templates' to 'Yes'

If you do decide to empty the templates_c folder, do not delete 'index.html'

Yep that was the problem

I failed to.....'Update themes and templates' to 'Yes'
