Working on my first XOOPS site; like it so far.
I'm trying to get the News module to display articles,
right now it displays only titles.

This is true whether I have my "start page" set to "none"
or "news". The news admin lets me set some of the blocks from this module "top news" "big story" but these blocks only display the titles for the articles.

I've doubled checked permissions, block config, etc.,
and haven't found anything.

My goal is to have a home page with a few news stories
displayed in the center, with other blocks doing their
thing down the right and left sides.

Any suggestions?

Hi i have the same problem as you. Did you find any solutions for problem

You have to let the blocks know how many characters (teaser) to show for each article.

1. Just go into Blocks-->List All Blocks
2. Find the News blocks that you want to edit
3. Click "Edit"
4. Look for "Show Teaser Length (0 for no teaser)"
5. Enter a number. I usually use 250
6. Make sure your topics are selected
7. Make sure it's visible to the users that you want it visible to
8. Click "Submit"

Voila. It should work.
