New User registration did not received their activation key via email.

But I received (admin) an email that a new user has just registered. What seems wrong. I have no knowledge on PHP & MYSQL. I'm just relying on the people who made XOOPS.

Using XOOPS ver 2.0.13.1,
installed on a server running linux via cPanel
MySQL ver 4.0.25
PHP ver 4.3.11
Themes customized by me cloning the defaULT THEME

Please help me. Thanks

I have found that some email programs treat the activation email as spam and put it into the spam folder.

Get your users to check the spam/bulk email folder to see if the ua email is there.

I use XOOPS 2.2.3, but I don't think the config should be too much different (?).

In your XOOPS adminpanel go to System >> Preferences.
Under Extended Profiles Preferences choose General Settings.

If you don't want to get notified when a new user register, mark No for "Notify by mail when a new user is registered?"

Besides "Select activation type of newly registered users" you can choose which activation method you want to use, if you want new registerings to be confirmed by activation-key sent to their email choose "Requires activation by user".

Press Go! to save your new settings.

Then, under System Preferences choose Mail Setup.
Select PHP Mail() as Mail delivery method, hit Go! to save and register at your site with a test-user to see if your mailfunction works now.

If it didnt work, then try SendMail as Mail delivery method.

If none those worked, make sure you have persmission to your sendmail binary, ask your server-admin.

Best Regards,
