I've looked around on the XOOPS Dev Forge, the module listing here, the module documentation and the developer's site and unfortunately, I did not see anything referring to how to upgrade.
What I suggest is
* Backup the module's original files and your database
* Delete the files from your server but do not uninstall the module from your XOOPS admin.
* Upload the new module in the old module's place
* Go into your XOOPS admin and update the module.
If the module can be upgraded, this method *should* work, but make sure you have a backup before you begin.
