October 31st:
At Xoops SourceForge I read that phppp (DJ) is going away from XOOPS dev for a while...
He is the developer of modules like CBB 2.30 (for XOOPS 2.2.x) and CBB 1.15 (xoops 2.0.13.1), Xpress (wordpress), Docuwiki and if I am correct also helps out with some core developments/improvements.

I don't want to sound pushy, negative or whatever, it just that I want to speak out my concerns. This announcement sounds to me like somewhat a silent notice on a not regular visited website. Why not announcing this on CBB website?
What does this mean for the mentioned modules and its further development? I am refering to development of NewBB 2 which stopped al of a sudden. Or thinking about the the WF-project(s)....?

ps: I didn't know in which forum this thread should be posted. Because it concerns module development I'd chosen this one. Sorry if it is the wrong choice.

hmmm, not sure where this should go either, but members lounge is better than Module reviews so I've moved it there.

I think phppp was a bit angry and disappointed at the recent flamewars that were directed directly at him. Any sane person would reconsider their motivations at that point (I know I have).

As far as I know he's still with us

This is something that has been long time coming and was pushed back (again) when phppp went to join core development.

However he recently also posted that it´s not a final goodby e but just a leave as originally planned.

I never said and will never say to leave Xoops.
If I could leave Xoops, that should have happened months ago.

(i won´t even speculate on how long it will be though)

However, i sincerely hope he is able to hold his fingers still and is not even reading this.
Sorry, this signature is experiencing technical difficulties. We will return you to the sheduled signature as soon as possible ...

Thanks BlueNova!

I really don't want to end up this topic within somekind of untasty discussion. (oh, how affraid I am for this, because it happens so often during the last few weeks/months)
Again: when I read it I was shocked and only wanted to share it.

I can only hope his 'leaving' will indeed be temporary and hopefully not for too long
Also,... but definately not in the least: although understandable, I can only hope the reason for (t)his descision isn't because of the way some ppl have approached him during the last few months. This community is -happily- much larger than those few.

Unless phppp feels like givin' a -short- reply, for me this topic is closed.
