I am obviously a newbie to the whole XOOPS thing. I uploaded the latest free theme, Orange Shine, and tried to select it as default. Nothing happened. When I logged out, the entire site went blank. How can I change the default template in the root directory back to the default template to correct this? Thanks.

Try accesssing http://www.liftedhands.com/xoops/html/admin.php

If you still can't get in, and you have access to your database through phpmyadmin. Change in the table "_config" the "theme_set" back to "default".

Cheers.

maybe a good advice would be to delete the content of your template_c directory and then try to load your site index page.

Just noticed you were still having problems.

The advice from Lance_ will work if you are familiar with the database and the tools.

The easiest for a beginner would be to rename the default theme to the name of the broken theme with a FTP program. Restart you browser and you should be good as new.

If you do rename the theme, then deleting the content of the template_c folder is imperative.

Not really necessary. But it won't hurt anything.

While deciding on which theme, debugging and customizing themes you can just select yes on this choice, Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?, in the preferences>general setting form.

The site is back up, which is a huge blessing! Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to respond to my request for assistance. It was a little strange how it got fixed - I tried everything listed in the replies, but the only success I had was getting the top logo and banner portion back. I had deleted the new theme from my themes folder and just tried to view the site on a whim from work rather than home and pulled up some of the site, but not all of it. However, the login box appeared, and I pounced on the opportunity. I tried logging in and gained access to the administrative area where I immediately changed the theme back to default. Thank you again for all of your help.
