Without seeing your site it is hard to guess. Could be a contaminated mainfile.php. You might try a reinstall.

I am having the same problem . the 'home page' takes ages to load - everything else works fine ... once you are on the site works fine going from page .... luckily i have several admin accounts but one the accounts no longer has admin priveliges even though it is in admin group ...

FYI, You seem to have a problem with wfchannel or content that appears in that module. The long delays return anytime a user returns to wfchannel.

Not that I can help, but perhaps more help could be given if you mentioned things like:

1) What version you're running,
2) What server your running (Apache, IIS, etc),
3) What operating system,
4) What type computer,
5) What module it happens on, and
6) What module you point to, if any, when you get to your start page?
MMM...It tastes like chicken! ...

admin lockout thread this thread explains what to do . its a sql process problem. through this thread i was able to figure out my other problem was related - I was trying out some new modules hence the template cache got 'confused'.

everything is fine now I think .... I recommend everybody read this thread because this seems to be a common problem ... I almost threw XOOPS in the bin today ... thankfully I had a look in here ...

thanks for your help

regards

oh yes had to update the mainfile.php and give it two hours to recover
